Disability Advocates has been a leader in West Michigan
in providing reliable, accessibility consultation services to building professionals since 1981. In 1995, the Access
Team was created by Disability Advocates staff and volunteers to actually go out into the community and put DAKC's mission statement into action. We have been
asked to assist on projects in size from a neighborhood coffee shop to the Van Andel Arena and RiverTown
Crossings Mall.
If you have any questions about accessibility and barrier-free design, there's only one number to call. Let our highly trained staff help make your building project accessible to all. Or if your local supermarket or place of public accommodation has an accessibility issue, give us a call and we will work with them to remedy the problem.
Complete Consultation and Plan Review
Let us review the accessibility of your new construction and renovation plans and make cost-effective alternatives. Your design will be thoroughly reviewed for compliance with the following requirements:

(including BOCA 1996 and CABO/ANSI A117.1-1992).
- The Americans with Disabilities Act and Accessibility Guidelines.
- The Rehabilitation Act, Section 504, and the Uniform Accessibility Standards.
- The Fair Housing Act and Accessibility Guidelines.
