Volunteer at DAKC

Volunteers play such a vital role in the work we do in the community. Giving your time and sharing your skills makes DAKC the grassroots organization that it is. Whether it's doing research, attending a rally, talking with a legislator or assisting with office work, volunteers provide support that makes a difference.

HAT Paralegal Intern

Accessibility Audits of local buildings

Audits local parks and recreation facilities

Legal Research - Must have access to Westlaw database.

5-15 hours per week, unpaid.

Want to gain more skills in volunteer coordination, program planning, and event coordination? Apply for our Volunteer Program Internship!

Requirements:
Currently attending a university or educational program.

Knowledge of Microsoft suite.

Responsible and detail oriented.

Assistive Equipment Volunteer

Want to help people get essential assistive equipment needed for daily living? Become an assistive equipment cleaner!
Position summary: There is currently a waiting list for wheelchairs, walkers, etc.
Help people get important equipment ASAP by sterilizing and preparing
the equipment for DAKC’s loan closet.

Requirements:
Sit, stand, reach, lift, and grab..

Flexibility to come in on short notice to clean recently donated equipment.

Detail oriented.

Two hour training.
